Day 1 Arrival in Paro – Thimphu (1.2 hrs)
Landing in the heart of the Himalaya is like nowhere in the world. On arrival received by HBT representative and extend warm welcome in Bhutanese traditional way. Transfer to Thimphu, approximately an hour drive. Upon arrival we will check into the hotel, after lunch we will visit the most interesting place for photo shoot and meet elderly Bhutanese men and women chanting prayers at National Memorial Chorten, stupa built in the memory of late 3rd king. Further we will proceed to visit National Textile Museum to see the best textile collection in the country, Zhorig Chusum, school where 13 different arts are practiced and learnt, this is wonderful place to take pictures of students as work. We will also hop into nearby Folk Heritage Museum and perhaps time to stroll the main street for some interesting Himalayan artifacts or textiles. Overnight in Thimphu, altitude 2400m.
Day 2 Thimphu sightseeing
After our leisurely breakfast, we will head to the north end of the valley to view Trashi Chhoe Dzong and further north to hike to Cheri Goenpa. The hike takes about 45 mins one way to reach the temple and trail passes through beautiful cantilever bridge providing us golden opportunity for the wonderful pictures and forest creating the chance to see birds and wild animals’ sometime. This is the monastery where the first monastic body was established in the Kingdom. Back in town to explore some of the remaining site like traditional paper making center, takin’s mini zoo and weaving centre. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 3 Thimphu to Punakha (2.5 hrs)
We will checkout from the hotel and drive to Punakha over Dochula pass at 3050m. If the weather permits we can enjoy a spectacular view of the highest mountains of Bhutan at a site that stretches almost 180 degrees. We will spend more time on the pass trying to capture white snow peaks of Bhutan. After the lunch we will visit Punakha Dzong (fortress) which houses the most elaborated temple in the country. One can also visit Souvenir making center and evening back to the hotel. Overnight in Paro, altitude 1350m.
Day 4 Punakha to Trongsa (5 hrs).
After our breakfast we will check out of the hotel and start the drive to ancestral home of our royals, Trongsa. En-route we will take wonderful breaks at Pelela pass at 3300m and Chendipji which creates amazing place for picture before crossing Trongsa. We will take evening 2 hours hike from Trongsa viewpoint to the Dzong before concluding our day. On arrival in Trongsa, we will visit Trongsa Dzong, the beautiful ancient homes of the royals. Overnight in Trongsa, altitude 2200m.
Day 5 Trongsa to Tang (5 hrs)
Check out from the hotel and proceed to the valley of Tang. En-route we will stop at yatha factory to capture more colors in the camera. Evening we will visit private museum of Tang. Overnight in Tang, altitude 2800m.
Day 6 Tang to Mongar (7 hrs)
Today’s drive will take us through Thrumshingla, at 3900m making this the most spectacular drives in the country, descending 3200m just in a distance of 84 km. En route visit Ura village, made of cluster of large stone houses. Overnight in Mongar, altitude 1600m.
Day 7 Mongar Halt.
Make an excursion to the north and visit the province of Lhuntshe, ancestral home of the Bhutan’s royal family. Visit the picturesque Lhuntshe Dzong (Fortress). This region is famous for bamboo basket and silk brocade dress. Overnight in Mongar
Day 8 Mongar to Trashigang.
Drive pass by the famous Yadi loops and to the province of Trashigang famous for beautiful textile of Bhutan. En-route we will visit Trashigang Dzong and Ranjung Gonpa. Check in the hotel and relax or take a walk in the evening. Overnight in Trashigang, altitude 1400m.
Day 9 Tashi Yangtse Excursion.
The excursion to Trashi Yangtse offers to visit famous Gomphukora, duksum to see the iron bridge built by Thong Thong Gylpo in 16th century and beautiful chortenkora. The chorten is said to have built over a live prince buried under the chorten as a offering to the deity and to pin down and demon receding in the area which use to destruct human activities as far as to Arunachal Pradesh, India. Still today, many people from Arunachal Pradesh come to witness the annual ritual preformed at Chortenkora. Evening we will drive back to our hotel in Trashigang. Overnight in Trashigang.
Day 10 Trashigang halt.
Trashigang sightseeing includes visit the Radi villages meeting locals and excursion to Khaling to see textile weaving center which is very famous for silk weaving. En-route we will stop to visit Trashigang Dzong. The Dzong was built by 3rd Druk Desi, Chogyal Minjur Tempa in 1669 as per the wish made by Zhabdrung before he went into retreat in 1652. Chogyal Minjur Tempa ruled the country from 1667 to 1680 and died in 1691. The Dzong was built on commanding hill top overlooking Drangme Chhu to defend Tibetans invader in 17 century. Today it houses the office of the district administrative officer and district monk body. Overnight in Trashigang.
Day 11 Trashigang to Mongar.
Check out from the hotel and we will retrace our drive back to Mongar, afternoon we will check into the hotel and relax or we will take an excursion to villages nearby. Overnight in Mongar.
Day 12 Mongar to Jakar.
The longest drive will pass through Lingmithang, Yongkola, Sengor and Thrumshingla pass before venture into valley of white bird. Evening we will walk in Jakar town.
Day 13 Jakar sightseeing.
Visit Jampay Lakhang, the one of the first 2 Buddhist temples built in the country. This is the home of the naked dance that is still performing annually. Visit Kurjey Temple, the site where royals are cremated, one can either walk cross the suspension bridge and visit the village of Parar and Tamshing or drive there. End your day with a walk passing by the Swiss farm. Evening stroll in Jakar town and try some local pancake and noodles. Overnight in Jakar, altitude 2650m.
Day 14 Jakar sightseeing.
We will take a beautiful walk to Thangbi valley with hot picnic lunch. Evening back to the hotel. Overnight in Jakar.
Day 15 Jakar to Phobjikha (6 hrs).
Today we will have an early departure for the lengthy drive to Phobjikhakha, valley of black necked cranes. Upon entering the valley we will pay homage to Gangtey Gonpa before checking into the resort. If time permits we will take beautiful walk or bike around the feeder road of Phobjikha valley meeting locals and students. Evening we may enjoy talking tales of Yeti as it is very famous in the black mountain region. Overnight in Phobjikha, altitude 2900m.
Day 16 Phobjikha halt
Explore the whole day in Phobjikha, valley of black neck cranes.
Day 17 Phobjikha to Paro (6 hrs)
Check out from the hotel after our breakfast and take 2 hours pleasant walk to the Gangtey Gompa. Later we will retrace our drive back to Paro via, Wangdue, Dochula and Thimphu. On arrival in Paro, we will visit national museum of Bhutan and Paro dzong. Evening we will explore the tiny Paro town. Overnight in Paro, altitude 2200m.
Day 18 Paro sightseeing.
We will visit more temples and farm house or enjoy whole day witness and playing archery in Paro. Overnight in Paro.
Day 19 Haa Excursion (6 hrs).
Early morning drive for the isolated valley of Haa over one of the highest motorable road of Bhutan. If the weather permits, one can view the highest peak of Bhutan, Mt. Jumolhari. Visit Haa valley. Picnic lunch and evening explore the little town of Haa and drive back to Paro. Overnight in Paro.
Day 20 Tiger Nest hike.
Early morning after our delicious breakfast drive to north end of Paro valley and hike to Tiger Nest Temple. The hike to Tiger’s Nest will take most of our day. The temple is one of the most renowned temple in the Buddhist world one of the ten most visit site before we die. This is most revolted temple in the country that literally hangs on a granite cliff overlooking the Paro Valley at 900m above the valley. En-route visit Kichu Lhakhang, one from the 2 oldest Buddhist temple in the country, historic Drukgyal Dzong (Fortress) and Evening at leisure. Overnight in Paro
Day 21 Departure.
The tour will end today. After the breakfast, we will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight. Carry smile on your face, eyes with tears and memories unlimited. Tour staffs will bid you farewell at the airport departure gate with the quick prayer of save journey and to see you again in future.
